Drevin couldnt help but laugh at the mans response to his last question. He also noted the subtle change in body language as he tried uncomfortably to change the subject.
So he had been right to assume that the stranger was after information on the jedi. But what worried him now was how this stranger still had the confidence to approach him dispite what he'd witnessed him do to the those thugs. That meant that there was probably a lot more to him than met the eye
"You have encountered jedi before then?" He paused before continuing.
"i spent most of my life as 1 of them. but i am a dark jedi now..." This he said with a certain amount of pride in his voice
It wasnt a term he expected the stranger to recognise. Dark jedi were not something that the jedi were proud of. They were seen as a failure of the order but Drevin thought differently.
"The jedi made me their enemy when they abandoned me to five years of pain and torture. And for that i will hate them always."

He was uncertain what was so funny, perhaps he had answered that last question wrong? But the ideas of sarcasm were not entirely lost on him, just a little twisted maybe. He was however somewhat pleased that the subject had moved from his irrtation to the subject he had come over here to try and drag out of this person. More so when the stranger readily admitted that he not only knew much about the Jedi, but in fact he had lived among them for some time. Certainly a find. He thought, doing well to keep his manner the same rather than betray a sudden interest so much as he had before.
" I have encountered Jedi before, yes." He answered honestly, but let on no more than that. His interest had been piqued by a term he was unfamiliar with. What exactly was a 'dark' jedi? Dark certainly implied a negative and the galaxies view on Jedi was relatively unblemished of late...until recent events at Sernpidal of course. Now people appeared to be taking sides. What was confusing was, he had said he was an enemy of the Jedi...he had heard of the Sith, but not this.
His mind began to wander when he considered what returning with one of these would bring him. But then again, that was not his reason for being here. And the strangers admittance that he'd left the Jedi over a matter concerning his torture caused his own lip to curl and only reiterated the memory of why exactly he needed to be here and what this would eventually lead to.
" Dark Jedi?" Curiosity was not a good trait, but even he had to admit it had it's moments. He had uttered the words before he had chance to reign them in.

The stranger hadnt said where or how he had met with jedi, which probably meant that the meeting hadnt been a particularly friendly one. That suited Drevin just fine.
He was satisfied and a little annoyed at the same time that this man hadnt heard of dark jedi before. It angered Drevin how the galaxy as a whole saw skywalker as the master of all force users.
"Dark Jedi arent well known, unless you count the one or two who have become famous by attempting to take over the new republic. They were foolish to attempt such a thing on their own."
He could see he had this ones full attention now.
"We differ from the Jedi in many ways. There are certain 'aspects' of the force that the jedi fear. Dark Jedi embrace these teachings, they give us strength and knowledge that the jedi could never possess."
He looked into the shadowed face of the stranger, a hint of malice in his voice. "The weak always fear what they dont understand."

At first his explaination of the dark Jedi sounded little different from that of the Jedi themselves. But as the conversation progressed he could hear the subtle differences and one sentence in particular caught his interest.
"The weak always fear what they dont understand."
He could not help but smile deviously, risking all and yet nothing with his next words. " That is why the Jedi shall fall."
Could he really deign to consider this dark Jedi worthy? And if so, was it possible to perhaps use him in some way before then granting him something as great as perhaps the blessed release? Possibly. Time would tell.
" Tell me more of these certain things that your kind embrace as opposed to the Jedi..." He began "...revenge for instance?"

Drevin was sure he'd caught a glimpse of a smile on the darkened features of the man sat opposite him.
"That is why the Jedi shall fall."
It was said as though this was merely a fact. But what gave this stranger such a sense of surety that the Jedi would fall? The Jedi had many enemies but none that he knew of who openly opposed them.
He knew that the stranger was testing him, getting all the information he could from him before he revealed himself, so Drevin had no choice but to feed it to him. But what if this being took this information and ran? Drevin would have gained nothing.
Well, if that happened, the stranger wouldnt make it as far as the exit.
"Dark jedi have existed as long as the Jedi have, and always will. We are fueled by our passion and strength whereas the jedi place their faith in peace and serenity. Dark jedi use anger and aggression to their advantage, but the jedi shy away from such powerful emotions, believing them to be uncontrolable."
"The desire for revenge is something that exists in us all, only the weak lack the courage to act upon it. Dark Jedi are far from weak"

"Dark jedi have existed as long as the Jedi have, and always will. We are fueled by our passion and strength whereas the jedi place their faith in peace and serenity. Dark jedi use anger and aggression to their advantage, but the jedi shy away from such powerful emotions, believing them to be uncontrollable."
Peace? This was the first word that he didn't recognize, but he guessed that was not necessarily a good thing, as the translation he did receive from the tizowyrm in his ear suggested submission of sorts. Nothing was positive where the Jedi were concerned, except the inevitability of their end that was. Even this one.
"The desire for revenge is something that exists in us all, only the weak lack the courage to act upon it. Dark Jedi are far from weak"
Now there was a sentence he could appreciate, though he could not claim to agree with the latter half and he voiced as much.
"That remains to be seen." He answered flatly, this language was hard to get the hang of, but even he had not been bereft of expression until now. "But you suggest that you would seek revenge on those who you say did you ill? If the chance arose?" Unseen to Drevin, he smiled, " Would you, if you had the means to do so?"
From what he had seen transpire here in the cantina, he could make no exact judgment, he could have openly challenged this dark jedi, but then he would be required to kill him and he'd already decided that this stranger might be of use before he could be granted a death honourable or not.
"Or is it not simply the Jedi who are afraid of what they do not understand?"
He rose from his seated position and went to turn away, pausing for a brief moment to glance back. Motioning to the drink he tilted his head slightly to one side as if in curiosity,
" You are not going to drink that?" This sounded more like a statement than a question in it's self. Unknown to the recipient of the drink, he had before hand placed within the dark, foul smelling beverage a palm sized brown bulbous creature known as a villip. Concealed by the fluid in the glass, he'd trusted that the stranger was not about to go drinking things given to him by someone he'd never met before.
He then appeared to scope the room as if still looking for the one he'd originally waited to meet. With another shake of his head he began to move off.
" It has been interesting but I must take my leave, if you wish to make good of my suggestions... " He left the sentence unfinished, imagining it went without saying what he had suggested here.

"I would and do have the means to exact revenge upon them."
The stranger spoke again. "Or is it not simply the Jedi who are afraid of what they do not understand?"[/i]
Drevin rose, his face flushed with anger. The stranger had succeeded in provoking him. He stared again into the faceless shadow of the man and opened himself to the force. Still nothing. A few wary cantina patrons looked over at the two nervously, expecting another brawl. And then the stranger broke the silence.
"You are not going to drink that?"[/i]
He'd nodded to the drink that he'd brought over to him. Of course he wouldnt drink it, he'd spent 5 years avoiding attempts to poison him while in prison, he wasnt going to let his guard down now.
"It has been interesting but I must take my leave, if you wish to make good of my suggestions... "[/i]
Drevins hand slowly released its grip on the lightsaber inside his cloak. He would gain nothing by attacking the stranger. He had a feeling that their paths would cross again soon.
He would of course take a sample of the drink once the man had left to find out if it had been poisoned. If that was the case then he would hunt him down and destroy him.

He offered no form of a verbal response, but he was acutely aware of how close he had come to provoking a reaction from the one that openly discribed himself as being a dark jedi. So he knew his limits then, and this one was full of anger, bitterness. Perhaps this would be easier than he thought? It had not been such an unproductive day after all.
Exiting the cantina he made his way past various miscrients who dwelt in and around the area. Deathstick and spice dealers alike, they were all infidels to him. The end of this all could not come quick enough in his opinion, but he feared that his sense of urgency was not felt by others in his fold.
The place he had found to hold up for the duration of his time here was as horrific looking as the rest of this pitiful world, apparently re-built to resemble something more beautiful than it had been before. He found that extremely hard to believe. But needs must at the present moment and at least here in the grotesque comfort of a small hotel establishment he could spare a moment to himself.
From the folds of his robe he produced another Villip, small as the one he had placed in the dark jedi's drink, but not it's partner. This one was master villip to one he'd given to someone else, and they were more than a little late in making contact. Stroking the small creature out of it's inaction, he waited to see if his agent would answer.

Drevins eyes followed the stranger all the way to the exit. As soon as he'd disappeared Drevin drew out a small syringe from his utility belt and sat back, clearing his mind.
So, he wasn't the only one who had a problem with the Jedi, it seemed that normal beings felt discontent towards them too. Although, that stranger had been far from normal. Drevin shuddered at the thought of how the force seemed to be void around him. That was not something he had experienced before.
Making sure that know one was paying attention, Drevin placed the syringe into the glass and began to drain the liquid. He gasped and was startled to find a horrible looking brown ball submerged in the glass. The look of disgust in his face must have been noticed by the serving droid as it had begun making its way over to him.
Drevin used the force to pluck the object out of the glass and placed it inside a pouch on his belt before the droid reached him.
In a metallic voice the droid asked "Is there a problem with your beverage sir?"
Drevin stood, giving the droid a curious look.
"Its a little lumpy."
With that he strode out of the cantina into the artificial light of the city. It was getting late and he wanted to get back as soon as possible to have a closer look at the object in his pouch.

Something was wrong, terribly wrong. He'd tried several times in the past cycle to contact the holder of this villips twin. The reason that his angent did not answer could be one of many, not any of them good either.
In a worst case scenario, they could have fallen into enemy hands, could have been discovered somehow. That was all fine and well, but the location of his agent upon their last contact with him had suggested a place that was remote. The chances of being discovered were slim. Then there was the possiblility that his agent had failed in their task and had chosen not to answer, either that or they were dead. He certainly liked the latter as a more plausible answer.
Was there some chance that the agent had been stalled somehow? Was unable to make contact? He couldn't linger here forever...no, he would not linger here forever. This place made his skin crawl, even beneath the concealing Ooglith Masquer. This whole world offended his senses. One more moment...and then I leave. He thought to himself.

Drevin sat at the edge of his bunk in near darkness, with the computer terminal offering the only light in the room. He rolled the odd looking sphere around in his hands. It looked as though it belonged inside someones body and felt just as disgusting to touch.
But why had the stranger put it into his drink? Surely he hadn't expected him to swallow it? There were much more subtle ways of killing someone than trying to get them to choke on a fleshy looking thermal detonator. He'd already checked that it wasn't an explosive by having his droid scan it. He'd discovered that the thing wasn't even metal inside, it was completely organic. So what was it for?
He placed the ball on a side table and decided that he should meditate on it. The force had offered him answers before and he needed to clear his mind.
As Drevin sat in deep meditation he felt the force surround him like a blanket, images passed through his vision, places he'd been, people he'd met, people he'd killed... like ghostly phantoms they drifted in and out of sight. But, these were different. These were people he'd never met before and there were many of them! They reached towards him, trying to strangle him with their ghostly arms as Drevin fell into the abyss.
He woke with a start, sweat running down over his naked body, his long hair hanging loose over his shoulders. The force often revealed images of the past but, it was the future that he'd seen this time. He was sure of it. Drevin stood slowly and looked expectantly at the small round object on the table.

He had almost forgotten about what had transpired in the day just passed. Taris, now enveloped in deep night, was just as foul as it was by day, just as busy too...he could leave unnoticed when he found the need to do so. But it was his prior thought that had caused him to pause for as long as he had.
The dark jedi stranger had not gotten in contact, perhaps because he did not know how precisely. Not that he couldn't fully understand that, if he had been shown one of the infidels communications devices and not felt he would be contaminated by it, he wouldn't have a clue either.
He now reached for the villip he had placed down on a nearby surface upon re-entering his room, the one paired with that of the creature he'd left in the strangers glass that day. Stroking the small bulbous creature to life, he watched as it everted, not taking on any form until the person at the other end would lay a hand on the receiving villip's pulsing form.

The object seemed to respond to his stare. It began pulsing gently which startled Drevin. He grabbed his lightsaber from the desk and had it ignited before his heart had beaten once. The red light from his blade cast deep shadows around the room as he held it close to the organic ball.
His heart began to beat faster, the ball seemed to be pulsing rapidly now. After what seemed like a few minutes he shut down his lightsaber and cautiously picked the ball up. It squirmed in his hand and seemed to take on different shapes as though it was alive.
Drevin quickly put it back down onto the table and took a few steps back, his deactivated lightsaber still in his hand. He continued to watch as the ball seemed to morph into a different form...

The formerly inert brown blob of a creature would have appeared to turn it's self almost inside out to form the features of the same person Drevin had conversed with in the cantina previously that day. Still shrouded by the hooded robe he wore, the creature produced an almost exact likeness down to where the figures shoulders would have been.
At the other end of the connection, the figure began to speak, " Ah so you do indeed know how to answer when called." he responded tersely, but not without complete humour, so it may have seemed.
The image he saw was not exactly the best he could have hoped for, as it still remained somewhat inert, whoever had responded to the creatures pulsing for attention, was standing out of range. He would say nothing further until he was aware of who this was.

Drevin jumped back in surprise as the blob formed into the unmistakable image of the stranger who had given it to him. Before he could even comprehend what was happening the blob began to speak.
" Ah so you do indeed know how to answer when called."[/b]
There was no mistaking the voice, even though it sounded slightly muffled. Unsure of how to respond, he walked cautiously closer to the animated blob wondering if the person on the other end could actually see him too. Which prompted him to grab his robe from the bunk quickly.
He knelt down close enough to be able to distinguish even the subtle folds in the strangers cloak. This was a very strange technology, he'd never heard of anything like it. So he felt a little silly as he spoke to the blob in front of him.
"You know you could've just called on the holonet like normal people. Or at least told me what this... thing was."
There was that 'normal' word again. Drevin reminded himself that nothing that had happened today was normal.
