The descent had been far worse than he'd expected. The ship had begun to tear itself apart as they'd entered the atmosphere, loose parts simply tore away from the hull as the ship increased in speed. It took all of Drevins piloting skills to avoid a crash landing, not to mention excessive use of the force. The Kath Hound had skimmed the giant massassi tree tops like a wave rider before finally coming to a less than comfortable rest in a small clearing. The impact would have killed Drevin if he hadnt used the force to slow their decent. The crash webbing had still caused him to brake another few ribs though and judging by the blood in his mouth, he now had a punctured lung too.
Drevin managed to pull himself out of the pilots chair and make his way to his chamber. He was barely able to move but it wouldnt do him any good for the jedi to stumble across his personal items. He began storing them away in secret compartments in the floor as V3 trundled about the ship awkwardly, putting out the numerous fires that had broken out. The ship would be repairable but it would certainly take some time.
The only problem now, apart from his wrecked ship and further injuries was the distance he'd landed from the Jedi temple. The ship was a good few miles out. He had no doubt that the jedi had seen him come in, the temple was equipped with all the latest high tech surveillance equipment. But whether or not they would arrive in time was another question.

(OOC: posting as Tionne Solusar, character up for grabs on a perminant basis if anyone wishes to take over? )
In the large hall designated for training late in the afternoon, the solitary figure of Tionne Solusar sat waiting patiently for the youngest of the Jedi students to arrive. She had been meditating on the lessons she was about to teach when a sudden jolt in the force had broken her sharply from her reverie.
Her opalescent eyes opened suddenly, and before her sat Master Ikrit. She had sensed his approach.
"I feel it too." Tionne muttered softly, gaining a nod of acknowledgment from the other master.
What was bizzare was, what she had felt exactly. A bright light, obscured somehow in the force, a sense of danger, but no fear. Images had flashed before her eyes, a ship plummeting to the surface of Yavin four. But above all else, what had concerned her most was, whoever was aboard had shielded themselves very well in the force, this meant they were almost certainly force sensitive.
"We would have recieved word if Master Skwalker was sending anyone, if one of the others was coming." She said, eyes betraying a sense of unease.
Ever since the onsett of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion had become clear, even before, the masters that had remained on Yavin to teach the youngsters, had kept up an illusion in the force, to ward off any unwanted visitors that could pose a threat to the academy. Only someone who was adept in the force could have broken such an illusion...or this was indeed an accident.
She did not gleen that much from the images or lack of fear she had felt from the Ship's occupant though. All else was witheld, shrounded from her.
Rising to her feet gracefully, she already knew what the other Jedi was doing here. "I will gather the students, perhaps together we can decide what is best to do."

***Posting as Kyle Katarn***
Kyle Katarn had felt the disturbance while he was teaching a group of students in a jungle clearing with fellow Jedi master Streen. Kyle had left them with the older master while he sprinted to the observation tower.
He'd arrived too late to see the ship crash but the trail it had left behind could still be seen clearly even this far out. Kyle reached out with the force to try to determine if the pilot was alive but there was so much life on Yavin 4 that it was difficult to pick out a single individual from such a distance. He'd felt no malice or threat from the ship, but there was something... a taint perhaps.
Kyle raced down the access ladder and headed for the main hall, no doubt the other masters were already assembling.

-Posting as Tionne Solusar-
Many of the youngsters were gathered in the hall already and Tionne could sense a few of them a short distance off. When the stragglers arrived, including Kyle Katarn, she -along with the other masters stood while the rest of the crowd that had gathered sat to listen.
"I sense already that some of you know why we have called this meeting, for those of you who may not know...a ship was sighted making for the surface of our planet." She meant our in the loosest of terms, nothing was really theirs. "Stricken as the ship may have seemed, I speak for many of us when I say that aboard I sensed a presence...and that presence sensed us back."
A few of the young Jedi's expressions turned to ones of great interest and trepidation, others whispered excitedly to one another at the prospect of the unknown. Many however, looked decidedly uneasy.
"As Jedi we are taught to preserve life no matter the odds, and so we have come here to discuss what step to take next in regards to recovery of the ship's occupant. They are alive, I can feel that much...but hiding in the shadows, like they almost knew we would seek them out."
She turned apprehensively to the other masters, waiting to hear their opinion, but trying her best to keep the concern out of her voice. The youngens were already disturbed enough, they looked up to the elder Jedi for support and encouragement.

***Posting as Kyle Katarn***
Kyle stepped forward and cleared his throat. He didnt like all the attention that now focused on him but it had been a while since he had done anything exciting.
'Excitement, adventure... a Jedi craved not these things.' He'd heard Master Skywalker say that more times than he could remember. But after spending the last few weeks teaching the students he needed a break from it. He deserved a break from it.
"I think its safe to say that whoever the pilot is, he or she is force sensitive." This brought a murmur of agreement among the jedi. "That means that we'll need to be extra careful. Because I get the feeling that whoever it is, theyre not one of our own."
"The presence didnt feel threatening as such... but at the same time, it didnt make me feel all warm and fuzzy either."
Some of the younger students giggled at this but a few of the wiser masters wore expressions of caution. Kyle felt that sometimes the masters could be too strict and over protective of the younger students.
"But as Master Solusar said, whoever was on board that ship will need our help and fast. We should put together a team." He quickly looked to Tionne and Kam for acknowledgment.

(posting as Tahiri Veila) ****** "Master Solusar, I want to go with you." said the blonde Jedi apprentice, Tahiri. She made her way excitedly across the cool green tiling of the floor towards the white haired Jedi master. Tahiri had become good friends with him due to his relationship to Master Tionne.

She nodded sagely as Kyle's somewhat lighter view on things, but knew it was no less serious than the other master's views either. Each had their own way of approaching things, that was what made this academy. It was so much more than the basic one on one 'master/padawan' teachings. You could gain a second opinion.
A familiar voice floated up from the small crowd.
"Master Solusar, I want to go with you."
Tionne had no need to glance at her husband, she could already hear him silently conversing with her on such matters. It was only she who decided to speak up in soft, calming tones.
"Kyle is right, " she began, more for the other masters than anything else as she spoke informerly. " What we sensed, it was...guarded somehow."
She shook her head and sighed, she did not like the idea of anyone from the academy going, but it had to be done. What was paramount, was that the students be kept safe in the unlikely event that this was an unwelcome guest.
"They will be expecting a search party, I am certain they sensed us also."

"Thats settled then. I'd like to volunteer myself to go." He looked around at the other masters and when nobody objected he continued. "I think only a few of us should leave though, it could be a trap to draw us away from the temple."
A similar thing had happened during the second imperium when Dark Jedi had rained down on the academy like vultures. Yavin 4 was such an isolated place that it was not easily defensible against such attacks.
He could hear the young girl Tahiri excitingly conversing with Kam. Oh well, at least im not the only one who craves a little excitement around here.
"We should take one of the shuttles." The hanger bay only contained a few small ships that mostly served as supply craft but they would be suitable for the short journey. "And a med droid" He added.
Kyle immersed himself in the force, searching...
Who are you?
The only answer was guarded silence.

Drevin struggled to keep his eyes open as he lay against the bulkhead in the main hold. His breathing was becoming unsteady and shallow and the blood that he kept coughing up was getting more frequent. He'd been using the force to keep himself form slipping into unconsciousness but the effort was gradually taking its toll.
With the help of V3 Drevin had eventually managed to hide all of his belongings in various sealed compartments. Now he just needed to get to the temple. He felt him then. Probing through the force...
Who are you? Came the question through the force.
Drevin smiled to himself despite the pain. Kyle Katarn. He wondered how the Jedi master would react when he discovered the answer to his question. Drevin had learned many techniques that remained hidden from the Jedi, and hiding ones presence was but one skill that he'd acquired. It was no secret that Drevin had become a Dark Jedi, he couldnt hide that fact and he wouldnt pretend to be anything else.
He hadnt planned it to happen this way though, a rough landing was all he'd hoped for and a few scratches. But as he lay there wondering how it had come to this, the sharp shooting pain in his head returned, more intense than last time as if reminding him exactly why he was here. Drevin let out an anguished yell that made his throat raw. A yell so filled with rage that it would have scared away the largest of yavin 4's predators.

"We should take one of the shuttles."
"I concur. A small team should be sent, perhaps staggered in the event of this being more than it seems." Tionne responded as evenly as she could, she sensed that she was not the only one thinking along these lines, that everyone was justly on edge.
" We are low on enough resources here with attentions diverted as it is, I will come with you in the absence of a med-droid."
She could already sense Kam's view on this, she would have felt the same if he had volunteered - should he volunteer. Sending him reassurance through the force, she hoped to aleviate some of those concerns, the key here was to find out what had happened for the time being. Then they could reacess the situation. There would be time for deliberation later she felt. For now they had to act.
With regards to Tahiri accompanying them however, she could not help but feel an almost motherly need to disallow the request. Was she too young to have seen past the excitement of adventure and sense the danger in this as a very real aspect? Tionne knew better than to credit Tahiri so little, most of the students had seen things that ones so young should not have to bear witness to. Such was the path they walked, even she needed guidence from time to time.
"Tahiri..." She had begun in that softly spoken, but apologetic tone. Tionne could already see the bitter disappointment in the girl's eyes. She had been like this ever since Anakin had left.

"You wouldn't be like this if Anakin was here, would you?" Tahiri lashed back. Lately, she felt a need for independence; she wanted acknowledgement that Tahiri was Tahiri and not just a little girl. "Is it any different than what we've been through before Master Tionne?"

***Kyle Katarn***
Kyle listened as the young girl protested. He couldnt help but feel for her, he would have had the same reaction had he been in her position. But there was no time to argue.
"I dont mean to sound rude but we need to get moving." This wasnt the time for squabbling, the pilot of the downed ship was fading fast.
"I'll go and ready the shuttle." He turned and ran to the hanger bay.

Tahiri's response was to be expected, such was the exuberance of youth. She was right, perhaps she was no longer a child in many ways, but primarily her welfare had been entrusted to the masters here and that was what Tionne had to bear in mind. She would not willingly send any of those here present into untold danger and now was not the time for a training exercise.
Thankfully Kyle seemed to have the situation in hand, taking command when they most needed it.
"We will need someone to ready the shuttle when we return," The platinum haired woman conceded, "But no more, not until we are certain what we are dealing with."
She so disliked using that almost parental tone with any of the students, it reminded her of what Master Skywalker had spoken of when he referred to what he knew of the Jedi of old. And it so clearly hurt the blonde girl's feelings, but sometimes prevention was better than cure. Still, she motioned for Tahiri to follow on, Kyle was already at the exit and he would not wait.
In the force, she too could feel the life force of the stranger fading, weakening. His resolve however, never dropped for a second.

Tahiri's shoulders untensed in dissapointment, but she watched Kyle walk down the hall, and took the que to follow. Working on spaceships hadn't been her strong point as long as Tahiri could remember, but on the odd occasion she watched others tinker with the greebly insides of a temple starfighter in the cavernous structure of the hangar bay.
Although it was open to the air, the vast area it covered had a distinct feeling of stillness accompanying a change of seasons. Tahiri was familiar with the shifting of vacant lots within the hangar, as ships departed and landed, but a shuttle had yet to move today.

Kyle completed the pre-flight check quickly with the young girls help. Despite not being permitted to go on the mission she had still carried out her duties admirably and without hesitation.
She'll make a great jedi knight someday he thought to himself.
The shuttle was always fully stocked with medical supplies and survival gear in case of an emergency so he didnt need to spend too long preparing.
Kyle climbed the boarding ramp and turned to face Tahiri. "Dont worry kid, i get the feeling you'll be seeing plenty of action soon enough..." he added with a sigh. "We all will."
