- Posting as Tionne Solusar -
As Tionne entered the shuttle, she felt her inner calm disturbed once again. Something about this whole errand made her shiver, chilled her to the core. She had not expected Tahiri to sense it, but everyone in the shuttle now seemed to betray a sense of unease.
Tionne observed the others for a moment, before going about a few last minuite checks herself. Once they were certain, she settled in the co-pilot's seat next to Kyle. Tahiri still held about her the wide eyed wonder and excitement that came with all the students here. And Kyle's words of encouragement did little to encourage Tionne herself, she'd noticed the tone in which he'd spoken them, and she had to agree.
" All ready when you are." she spoke with a hint of trepidation, "i'll search if you're flying."
Tahiri could help with that too. Two heads were better than one as the saying went, and with two Jedi searching for the strange presence in the force they were likely to locate them quicker.
She reached out into the force, the presence was still there, barely a flicker at this distance, fading...or was that what he wanted them to think? He... So they were looking for a male then? This still did not narrow down their search much, the jungle would be alive with life in the force, making it harder for them to find this guarded person. They had quite the task ahead of them.

*** Posting as Kyle Katarn ***
The ship soared above the dense canopy of ancient massassi trees. The jungle stretched across the landscape before them, as far as the eye could see. Not even a fraction of the ancient jungle had been explored by the Jedi and as they flew above it kyle wondered what other secrets lay in its midst. He knew well the history of this moon, it was part of their jedi training to learn it. He knew that it had once been a great stronghold of the ancient Sith and even now the darkside held sway over certain areas.
Although the smoke from the wreckage would have cleared by now, he still had a rough idea of where the ship went down. Although how anyone could have survived such an impact was beyond him.
Squinting against the evening sun, Kyle could dimly make out what appeared to be a long stretch of scorch marks along the treetops in the distance. He needn't have looked with his eyes though, he could feel the dark side emanating from the position like a beacon. Whoever the pilot was, they'd given up trying to hide their identity in the force. Or perhaps they'd had no choice he thought.
With the feeling of uneasiness growing, Kyle pushed harder on the throttle.

** Posting as Tionne Solusar**
Plumes of thick smoke rose from the depths of the dense woodland and Tionne could sense the life around it spanning outwards to escape the flames that had not yet burned out, or smoldered within the wreckage. Someone had survived this? Yes, there would have been time.
As Kyle took the ship down past the thick clouds of smoke, the extent of the damage could be seen at quite a distance. Several massassi trees and saplings had been felled in one foul swoop or, Tionne thought, a very hapless landing.
Amid all the chaos below, fleeing wildlife and disturbed forces, she searched, urging the young Jedi Tahiri to do the same. Reaching out with her mind, her senses she soon found the strange presence again, burning faintly in the force at first but quickly gaining in intensity. A light no longer fading. came to mind, but she had no time to ponder this thought as the platinum haired Jedi felt the presence in the force grow immensely stronger for a second or two and suddenly she realized, someone had reached back!
"There!" Tionne said suddenly, breaking from her trance like state. At her back she wondered if Tahiri had felt the same thing too? "Just beyond that clearing, on the east side of the crash site..."
The presence she had felt was indeed alive, injured and in need of aid, but yet they remained guarded. This war had turned up some strange people from the past recently and Tionne had to wonder if this was just another of their old acquaintances that the Vong had flushed out of hiding. New alliances were forming...so why did she feel so dubious about it all?

*** Posting as Kam Solusar***
He almost called out to her through the force..to tell her that he should go and she should remain with the children. Both she and Katarn were more than capable masters..but she wasn't like Katarn and himself..more attuned with battle. Perhaps it was only old shadows of his previous life that still lingered. He objected to the idea of Tahiri going along. She was past the point of padawan but not that much so. But Tionne and Kyle did not seem to object.
He did not need to call out to her in the force. He knew she knew what he was feeling. She was still a Jedi and did not need his protection.
Possesion was not the way of the Jedi and he loved her for her freedom. If he imposed on that her tunes would no longer be free. But this presence was something he was more than familiar with.. A taint..a darkness that sought to conceal itself. He having been a dark jedi himself under the command of the emperor knew this feeling
Beware Tionne. I sense the darkside in this one. I will tend to the children. Call me if you need assistance. May the force be with you both.
Kam turned back toward the group of students.
"Settle. Settle. Everything will be fine..Let' us go to the common areas now to rest."
With that he sheparded the younglings and padawans along with Ikrit . May the force be with them all in these days.

As Drevin lay against the bulkhead he could hear the droning sound of a ship touching down outside. A warning from V3 confirmed it and shook him from his daze.
He'd let his Force guard down only moments earlier, it was costing him too much energy to keep it up while he simultaneously tried to stay conscious and stop his injuries from consuming him. It had been necessary for a time, had the jedi discovered too early who he was then they probably would have left him there. But now it was too late, they were here. He could sense their caution and anxiety clearly through the force.
The acrid air in the downed ship was becoming thin. In his drowsy state Drevin hadnt noticed, but now he was all too aware of the toxic fumes threatening to choke him. Drevin forced himself to his feet, using the small droid for support. The movement sent tremendous jolts of pain through his entire body and he nearly fell back to the ground. Drawing heavily on the force Drevin staggered toward the hatch and when it failed to open he used all of his remaining strength to send a wave of force energy at it, causing it to fly outward onto the jungle floor. For a few moments he stood there, relishing in the fresh air before his eyes adjusted in the dim evening light and fell upon the jedi.

*** Posting as Kyle Katarn ***
After putting the ship down next to the wreckage Kyle cautiously strode over to the still burning bulk. It was a mass of tangled metal and broken trees and the surrounding ground was black and scorched.
Removing the lightsaber from his utility belt Kyle reached out with the force. He felt the build up of energy only moments before the hatch came hurtling outward. Kyle back flipped out of its path and activated his blue blade as the hatch landed with a dull thud at his feet. Not as helpless as I thought...
He held is lightsaber in a guarded position as the smoke cleared around him. It was difficult to see in the darkening jungle but there, stood in the doorway was the source of the disturbance. The unmistakable form of the Dark Jedi, Drevin.
Memories flashed through Kyles head as he looked upon the boy he once knew. The young curious Ysanna boy who he'd taught how to use a lightsaber. Except that this wasnt the boy he once Knew. Drevin was a fully grown man now and he looked as though he had been to all nine corellian hells and back. His dark features now bore prominent scars, his eyes were dark and grim, his hair had grown thick and long, hanging loosely about his shoulders. His dark robes and height only seemed to amplify his Death-like appearance. It all came flooding back to Kyle, the death of Drevins master, the murder of the criminals and their political founder, Drevins trial... His sentence.

She could sense her husband's concern for her and the others, his aprehension regarding the true nature of their injured stranger. She could try to reassure him through the force, she had done, but she also knew that if Kam was going to worry, then worry he would until they all returned unscathed. More worryingly for them however, she was uncertain of this prospect coming true.
Kyle was the first out of the shuttle, using the force to aid his path toward the wrecked ship. Even from as far as the shuttle entrance, Tionne could feel the heat of the burning wreck on her skin. She hung back for a moment, waiting to see if they would need that quick getaway afterall.
A loud groaning of straining metal filled the air and she looked on as Kyle ignited his lightsaber, following suit not long thereafter. The hatch of the downed vessel was flung from it's holding in one foul swoop, connecting with the trunk of a lean, but strong, massassi tree and careening off into the dense foliage. Winged creatures took flight en-masse but all Jedi kept their gazes locked on the space now opened by the hatch's quick departure.
Standing in the doorway, looking as dishevaled as one could look after surviving a crash of this magnitude, was the object of their disturbance. Tionne caught a flash of warning from Kyle which she was quick to reciprocate to both Tahiri and him also. She had sensed his alarm and was now questioning it herself. He knew this one...so did she. She had not met him more than in passing perhaps, but she had heard of his misdeeds. These had been widely discussed around the time of his outcasting and sentence.
He looked different...worryingly so.
Drevin appeared injured, she had first thought this might be merely an illusion, but his pain spoke volumes in the force. There was indeed more to this than met the eye. Tahiri, be on your guard. She warned as calmly as she could, we are going to need those med supplies if this isn't what it looks like.
Kyle seemed to have this in hand, but she too stepped from the landing ramp also. She had hoped that it would not come to this, she abhored violence as any Jedi did, and she sensed nothing but defense from Drevin. What had happened to him? He bore wounds both old and fresh she discovered, and there was an urgency about him that betrayed nothing but the will to survive.
"Please, let us not fight, we will help you...if your intent is not to cause trouble for us here."

*posting as Tahiri Veila* Tahiri felt the warning from Tionne, but hardly needed it. I'm going to the medical bay The sight of the burning wreck was enough to make her feel uneasy. She took the que to dash quickly the shuttle's medical cabinet, and was urgently returning with a bundle of supplies.

"Please, let us not fight, we will help you...if your intent is not to cause trouble for us here."
Drevin faltered slightly and had to hold on to stop himself from falling. Cause trouble? He could barely stand.
He tried to speak but his throat was so raw from the fumes and dried blood that nothing came out. He frowned in frustration and looked upon the Jedi. Three of them.
Kyle Katarn he knew well, and by the look on the others face Kyle remembered him too. The other two he knew also, Tionne had taught the young students the history of the jedi, sung in beautiful ballads. Drevin had enjoyed her lessons thoroughly as a boy, always eager to learn more of the jedi and sith. He recalled the other girls name, Tahiri. He had never spoken with her but he knew that she had once been a tusken raider and that she often spent a lot of her time with Anakin Solo.
Memories came flooding back to him of his childhood, his life at the temple, his downfall... If only things had been different he thought.
The sharp unrelenting pain returned in his head then, unbalancing him and forcing him to his knees.

Drevin moved his lips as if to speak but no sound came out. He seemed to take them all in one by one. Was he sizing them up? Deciding who to attack?
At that moment Drevin lurched forward and fell to his knees in agony, holding his head tightly as if trying to crush his own skull. Kyle shut down his lightsaber and rushed to the Dark Jedi's side, catching hold of his shoulders but being careful not to injure Drevins ribs further.
"Tahiri how about those medical supplies?" He shouted.
Kyle opened himself up to the force, trying to determine the extent of the Dark jedis injuries. Kyle gasped as he felt a wave of pain wash over him, a mere taste of what Drevin was feeling. This was beyond them out here in the jungle, he needed proper care at the temple.
A small utility droid trundled out from the ship and stopped at the Dark jedis side as if to defend him.

At her back, she could sense Tahiri's brief stint of frustration before she went about sorting out those medical supplies. Not a moment too soon either, Drevin was down and so unmistakably in immense pain.
Kyle was already trying to help him, get a response and check him over when Tionne rushed to his side. Her rush was only slowed some by the wirring of servos as a small, stubby and slightly battered droid wheeled it's way toward them. He didn't look armed, but such things were not unheard of in droids of this nature. Utility literally meant just about everything after all.
Fully prepared to force shove the droid out of the way should it try anything untoward, she knelt at the side of the fallen dark Jedi. She was certain the others had noticed the nature of his wounds, but she voiced her concerns nevertheless.
"These wounds aren't fresh, they should not be enough to cause this alone...the impact however." But there was something else that she caught from him. When she attempted to find the source of his agony, she found...nothing. The natural response to finding out this fact would be to accuse the fallen one of faking his injuries, but Tionne knew this was not so. The pain was real enough, it's source however. Her watery-eyed gaze met with Kyle's in that instant, something terrible had happened to this one and she had a fair idea that they both knew what. In the bleakness of that knowledge, Tionne suddenly felt very cold indeed.

Drevin could feel the timid Jedi master in his mind, trying to locate the source of the terrible pain, but she seemed to recoil in shock when she failed to locate it. That worried Drevin more than anything, he had tried to discover himself why the intense pain kept returning but to no avail and the fact that a jedi master could not find its source either was very worrying.
"These wounds aren't fresh, they should not be enough to cause this alone...the impact however..."
Drevin heard the words as he tried desperately hard to remain conscious. He had erected a mental wall against mind intrusions using a technique he'd learned in 1 of the sith holocrons. There were plenty of things that needed to be kept secret from the jedi but now was a good a time as any to show them why he was so badly injured and where he'd obtained his injuries. He needed them to cast aside any doubt about his allegiance.
One by one he set about opening up certain parts of his memory, allowing images of his imprisonment at the hands of the yuuzhan vong to flow out, his duel with Kahn'ik D'ul and his narrow escape.

At first, slight trickles of information came to her, fed through Drevin's mind into the force. She saw a planet, a world in this galaxy covered in dense jungle life. It could have been one of many if she had not recognized the images of the university there. It was renound in the outer rim as one of the most prestigeous of it's kind to be located where it was. She saw it first as it once was and then....ruins? The center was barely recognizable at all.
It was then she recieved a montage of fast, flurrying images so shocking and concerning that she almost snap-broke contact with the man before them instantly. Brow knitted in worry, she saw his capture, his containment...felt the remnants of a pain he'd suffered unthinkable. Above all else she discerned one clear thing, his captors, torturers, had been not of this galaxy. They were Yuuzhan Vong.
Raising a hand to her head in sudden discomfort she fell back on her haunches, with a sudden sharp movement unusual to one who often walked so elegantly. When Tionne opened her eyes she too held a pained expression upon her features.
"We need to get him to the shuttle." It was too early to say if they should return him to the academy, his crimes were such that he could still be a great danger to them all, especially the students. But he needed medical attention away from the ruined ship. The small med-bay would have to suffice.

Tionne's sudden movement startled Kyle and he instantly rushed to steady her. He'd seen the images too. No, felt them. Although he hadnt been as attuned to them as Tionne had. But he'd seen enough to leave him slightly shaken. The Yuuzhan Vong had done this to him. That opened up a whole world of possibilities and dangers.
"We need to get him to the shuttle." It was getting very dark now in the dense jungle, it would soon be time for the moons predators to begin their nightly hunt. They had to move fast.
kyle nodded in agreement and turned to Drevin. "We'd better take the droid too, it doesnt look like he's planning on leaving his master."
Kyle hooked one arm around Drevins body and gently lifted him off his knees into a standing position. The Dark Jedi moaned in pain but got to his feet and steadily walked with Kyle toward the shuttle.
Then he heard it. The heart stopping sound of one of Yavin 4's deadly predators. It was closing in on them.

"I'm alright" She reassured Kyle as she steadied herself and rose in order to help. "But I agree...we should make some headway before..."
A sound in the distance cut her off, a low rumbling that indicated a predator out on the prowl. The breeze was slight, but enough to carry their scents back to something traveling in the opposite direction.
"Hurry.." was her first thought she gave voice to in haste. There was only so fast, even with the aid of the force, that two people could help Drevin back to the shuttle.
Tionne tried in vain to sense out what was stalking them, but her thoughts were too clouded, too distraught from what she had seen prior to this, to tell for sure. She took the strain the opposite side of Drevin, hooking his arm about her shoulder, using the force to premote healing within him and difuse his pain. The lack of a source made that incredibly difficult though, frustrating too.
Incoming, she sent Tahiri through the force, hope that med-bay is ready.
