"Much of what I can discern about infidel values is through pirated Holonet transmissions, sadly. I have only seen glimpses of this dramatisation of the Clone Wars through the galactic press releases. Although this appears not on the par of the grand celebration of Endor's mythology as Ewoks: the stop-motion cel-paint campaign, a point of interest is the late General Grievous. I cannot imagine the horror of being trapped in a droid body, or putting up with masters as dowdy as Sith Lords. His story is perplexing. Asajj Ventress. She is another matter completely. Females of this particular body shape have the strangest taste in clothing. It is not surprising to say she uses the weapons of a Jeedai, nor that she displayed the usual infidel way of treating personal loss." And of all things she is bald like me but without the prerequisite skull length I bet my right hand that Grievous/Shaak Ti shippers will say Ahsoka is the lovechild of Grievous and Shaak Ti. Just you wait! Besides the expected shipping wars, I think this is my favourite portrayal of Ventress yet, sans the cleavage. I wonder whose decision it was. The most disturbing portrayal is definately the last issue of Obsession. The Mighty Muggs figurine has the new look. I hope this isn't a weird retcon, and that Ventress has more outfits in her 'fresher closet. The trailer mentions Jabba the Hutt's son, too. It natural to ponder if Jabba was male or female at the time...

Ventress' new, "sexier" design perplexed me a bit, especially since this is a movie sortof targeted to younger audiences, what with being animated. Ventress is supposed to be a Sith, not a supermodel, and it seems like the distinction between Star Wars female not portrayed in the movies and fanboy eye candy is getting thinner and thinner. Nevertheless, I'm eager to see the clone troopers in action, especially in a format as unlimited in terms of setting as animation is. While I didn't think about the Gree/Ti shippers (How, er, exactly could Grievous have children in his, er, mechanical state?), I was a bit concerned for Ahsoka what with the fact that she doesn't appear in RotS and therefore must die or fall of the face of the canon or something. This Jeedai will hopefully be supporting her faction at a midnight premiere.

The Ventress thing perplexed me too they have even gone as far as to redesign her tattoo's by the looks of things, thus putting pay to the little story behind the strikes on her heads, as being a symbol for each one of the warlords she had killed -those responsible for the state Rattatak was in, those that resisted her and those who killed her parents and/or master - The one's she now sports are very Darth Maul. The common misconception about Ventress, is that she is a Sith. Technically, she was being taught in the Sith ways, but she was only ever a dark Jedi. Dooku would never complete her training as it kept her trying to prove herself, running around the galaxy making trouble for Anakin - thus testing his mettle in the process. Asajj, was like Grievous, a distractional tool...much like Dooku was to Palpatine in a sense. I find Ventress' willowyness to be in keeping with the style, though yes, it is a bit disconcerting when people insist on making female's that appear in anything on the big screen, thinner and thinner. Though what they have done with her design here isn't too bad, yet somehow it reminds me of what they did with Mara Jade on the cover of 'Sacrifice' - I didn't know the force had anti-aging properties too Have a good midnight screening Cy? I am going to watch it today, as I promised the guys where I used to work that I would come in costume again lol.

"That Ventress! The markings on her brow look very familiar. I take it is coincidence, but for a Jeedai to sport the domain insignia of Val..."
I take you've watched it by now. Thankfully, Elmira is never appearing in a big-screen movie (being rather burly), unless I change my mind and put some work into moviemaking.
It sucks about the tattoos, though. The original ones had a backstory to them. I think any Yuuzhan Vong would disapprove of this tampering :/

Completely agreed on the whole tat issue - she now has a huge chunk of her backstory missing. Plus, has anyone else noticed how they look like some of Maul's tattoos?!

The ones on the McDonald's toy look rather like Elmira's domain mark and eyebrow implants XD
Oh, I wish I could influence the official artists....

I actually hadn't noticed that Ventress' tattoos look anything like Maul's--aw, there goes a chuck of continuity again.
Hehe, influencing official artists is definitly on my list of things I'd like to do.
So, what do y'all think about the TV series? My favourite episode hands down has been the one with Kit Fisto and a little bit of Grievous' backstsory. The Gree/Ti shippers haven't exploded as much as one might have expected (not that I've seen, anyway), but it appears that Ahsoka is everyone's new favourite slave girl despite the fact that she's like fourteen. Oh, sometimes this fandom makes me want to weep.
But so does Ahsoka's characterization. Is anyone else's Mary Sue detector going off?

Make that three for the influencing official artists thing, but in a way I am kinda glad they aren't allowed to look at the fan-work THANK YOU CY! - this pertaining to the Ahsoka slave girl thing, I find that just a little bit...well...creepy! Sure, i'm sure it's 'normal' if you yourself are 14, but well, I have seen some art from people in their 20's and 30's that's creeped me out on that count, quite a lot! Just seems a bit gross if you ask me. Yeah I know, I like Yuuzhan Vong, but well...not 14 year old YV ewwww! Soapbox rant over with, I have actually found that my Mary-Sue alarm has been going off big time in recent Ahsoka-centric episodes. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact it's a female padawan getting into the action, as a kid, I always gravitated to such characters, and Ahsoka would have been my favorite if I was still 8, but from an adult POV, she is a little bit too...Mary Sue. I like how, in the last ep I saw, she was telling Anakin what to do! Seriously, thanks for the opinions Ahsoka, but listen to your master...he is the chosen one after all All this leads me to wonder how it all ends for her, is she 'purged' along with the rest of them? Personally, the highlights of the episodes for me, have been the Clones, the very sleek looking Grievous and some of the banter that's thrown in for die hard fans. I expect it to be slightly dumbed down for kids to get into easily, it's a lot of fun and much more in depth than the short animations ever were. I would like to see a bit more of Kit Fisto too

Speaking of slave girls, there's a story in the Clone Wars comic series where she IS one, and is put in a racy pose. Nothing too not work safe, but beware the chains!Anakin lets Ahsoka boss him around because they are the new Star Wars OTP. I think Padme has something to do with Ahsoka's absence in Episode III. Or maybe it was Elmira, after Ahsoka embarassed Grievous, again. Aha. Aha.

That is the image I had seen before, not read the comic this comes from so I couldn't say either way what it is about, but even so...eww, she's like 14!

Yeah, I've seen that comic. *grumbles*
As much as Anakin/Ahsoka angers me, the idea of Padme punting the pint-sized Padawan out of jealosy made me lol.
I have enjoyed the clones a lot, and especially in the recent episodes with Ryloth one can really see how the creators are getting used to using a longer timeslot--the episodes are getting more cinematic, more well-paced. They're finally slowing down and letting us savor some scenes now.

i more or less like the series but not for the jedi, i like it for the clone troopers, it kinda reminds me of the Starship troopers series. i wish they did more epsoides like rookie or bring in the commandos of delta or the omega, maybe some mandos too. one epsiode kinda stabbed the jedi metaforicaly one trooper argued that they are using a SLAVE ARMY and how is that moral (is a great moral story arch for the clone wars but they kinda did an "eh" cop out. As for ahsoka since shes a child she cant die, so my theory is that shes goes MIA or desides to leave the jedi and is killed by vader years down the road.
